Breaking News Of National Interests- Your Dog Is Dead

Another site which I am sure will be a regular source of content for this blog is Fox News. I went there today and clicked on the US section of the site and was floored by the top headline, "Dog Dies After Encounter With Toxic 'Bufo' Toad"

The idea that some random poodle died somewhere and it was deemed newsworthy is beyond comprehension. Maybe- at most- it could be on a little sympathy peace on the local news in a small town, but to have it on the headlines of the "most watched news channel" is completely ludicrous.

The absurdity of the story itself was eclipsed for me by this comment from Jess:
Simultaneously inconsiderate, racist, and obnoxious. And in all caps.

Egypt Protests, Sharia Law, And Code Pink Conspiracies

This next batch of comments comes from Glenn Becks news site The Blaze. I expect that a lot of content for this blog will come from The Blaze as the site seems to be a stomping ground for some of the most insane and loudest white dudes with computers.

The comments were posted on the article "Cairo Protesters Block Access to Official Buildings". The article explores the growing frustration of the Egyptian people, who see reform coming too slowly after their revolution in February. The article was extremely short, a trend that seems to hold through most articles on The Blaze. They seem to know the audience well, and do not want to burden them with troublsome context and facts. The Blaze is also very accepting of the views of others, even if they are threatening, racist, or generally insane. To date, only 1 comment on The Blaze has been reported and taken down according to their posting stats available to registered users.

This first comment comes from DONTBOTHERME:
Inkeeping with his choice of names, this dude just seems to be bothered by anyone protesting anything. Taking his logic a step further, I am sure that this also reminds him of Westbro Baptist Church Protests and demonstrations by PETA. All surely Obama's doing....

This next comment comes from a chap named NHABE64:

NHABE just seems to hate Egypt in general. Or is just upset with news sources (if you want to call The Blaze That) reporting on events?

My favorite comment comes from FINA BISCOTTI:

This truth-seeker claims that Mubarak righteously protected Egypt by banning the Muslim Brotherhood. The then attributes the uprising in February to a sinister alliance between Barack Hussein Obama and Code Pink(!?) Excellent job FINA BISCOTTI!

First Post! Baseball Accident

So recently at a Rangers game a man fell to his death over the outfield railing to catch a foul ball tossed by an outfielder for his son. It was a totally horrific and tragic accident topped off by the fact that his son watched him fall. To the dismay of the man's family, the news media saw it as a great opportunity to get some hype off of the shock value of posting the video of the event.

Sure enough, the anonymity of the internet made for some particularly poignant comments about the latest excess of the sensational media machine.

This comment was posted on the Huffington Post's page about the accident:

Frank Gunnels weighs in with a particularly sensitive take on the event. His comment takes on the usual internet commenter position of "they deserved it!". The best way to understand this take on events is by looking at the Just World Fallacy. Pretty much, in this dude's twisted brain, anyone who is befallen by misfortune must have done something to bring it onto themselves (i.e. that woman was raped because her skirt was too short!) This species of internet commentator is often seen in articles about homelessness (get a job!)

A fellow who goes by the name ConservaYoda also deserves a shoutout for his insightful take on events:
